As part of The Katie Piper Foundation Rehabilitation Centre team, I have decided that I will be running the Liverpool 10K in May 2020 to raise awareness for The Katie Piper Foundation and the fantastic work that this charity does for burn survivors all across the country.
Over the past few years I have met some amazing people who have been through the most difficult times that they will ever experience. Being a burn survivor is not something that you can recover from quickly or easily.
As a Burns Physiotherapist, I see the daily struggles and the pain that burns survivors and their families go through, both physically and mentally. The months upon months of pain, dressing changes and surgical procedures throughout their recovery process. This is years of rehabilitation and scar management.
I am extremely fortunate to also see the positive impact that burns rehabilitation can provide and the amazing opportunities that The Katie Piper Rehabilitation Centre can provide for survivors. My aim is to raise awareness of the fantastic work that the Katie Piper Foundation do, but also to raise some money along the way to continue to help other burn survivors across the country get the support they deserve.
I would really appreciate any donation to help towards improving the lives of burn survivors across the country.
